Autobiography: Naked Eye

He embodies the ‘Do for yourself’ and ‘Do it now’ mentality. He didn’t waste time in executing goals”

Before we get into who “he” let’s introduce the man behind these words. Masilo Moroenyane also known as Naked Eye. The Evaton extraordinaire is a man of many caps. From being an artist, a rapper, producer and owner of a production company by day he is also a loving husband as well as a loving brother.

Naked Eye mentions his love for the Hip Hop industry and describes that Hip Hop for him isn’t something you ‘choose’ but it’s a ‘calling’. “I have tried living without it and that’s when I witnessed depression for the first time in my life.

I believe I’m called to say something, so it’s more than entertainment” As an owner of a production company there a number of challenges Naked Eye has faced head on. He mentions that he prefers to be hands on with the music and work hand in hand with someone to run the production. Other challenges include finance and having to keep sane trying to align everyone’s schedules with the company’s.

Despite the challenges faced, Naked Eye mentions that he is currently working on himself as an artist. He further alludes that he has worked with many artists before but challenges arose when trying to get everyone together to meet certain deadlines. On the plus side, he formed a partnership with Khala FILIM Pictures where his role is sound capturing, sound design and sound production.

Let’s go back to the beginning where we indicated “he” and now is where we get to know who “he” really is. He is goes by the name of Mohau Tshepo aka Pho’netiq Ngoasheng a young talented artist from Limpopo.

Pho moved to Vaal in 2009 to peruse his career in the music industry where he met the likes of Naked Eye. Pho’s relationship with Naked Eye began when he was just a fan and became an artist under his production label, enthusiasm got the best of him and was able to get the hang of things so much so that he went on to open his very own entertainment company and believe it or not signed Naked Eye under him.

“Besides managing Naked Eyes studio in Vanderbijlpark, Pho was described as ‘a solid dude’. You could depend on him for anything as he always came through. He was a fun character who loved his life to the fullest. Always happy and smiling, sadly due to health problems Pho passed on, on the 11th of September 2020”. Said Naked Eye.

Naked Eye mentions that his passing came as a huge shock to him and everyone else he knew and worked with, “the culture lost an activist, soldier, fighter, lover, a thinker, and a leader. Due to this massive loss, the awareness of checking up on your loved ones is something that’s been practiced constantly”.
